Koh chooses to remain in Penang

GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, who leaves the post he has held for 18 years to contest a parliamentary seat this election, will do battle in Penang although he has been offered "safe seats" in other states.

Koh said although all four parliamentary seats allocated to Gerakan in Penang were tough seats, he would still contest here.

"I will not leave Penang. I may be going to the federal level but I will remain in Penang," he said, adding that he would announce next week which seat he would be contesting.

Koh, who is Gerakan acting president, said he had received offers to contest in Segambut in the Federal Territory and Simpang Renggam in Johor where Gerakan's Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong and Datuk Seri Kerk Choo Ting are the incumbent MPs.

Soundtrack Pro 2.0.1

Sound editors and video editors—the humans, not the software—often seem to live in different worlds. The latest version of Apple's Soundtrack Pro, version 2.0.1, part of Final Cut Studio 2.0.1, seeks to bridge some of those divisions, at least within the suite's workflows. Enhanced recording tools aid dialogue and Foley recording (which includes sound effects and incidental sound), and a new audio Conform facility promises to make reconciling video and audio edits easier.

New pro audio features also cater to video production, making it easier to match audio recorded in different locations and to manage surround sound. The challenge for Soundtrack Pro 2 is balancing interface simplicity and the dual demands of video and audio production.

Prosumer to pro to more pro

Soundtrack Pro has gone through some major transformations, in both features and user expectations, in its four years of existence.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Cam'ron Found! K-Ci Gets Boo'd! Jay-Z Vs Dutch Rapper ...

On top of it all, K-Ci decides it's a good idea to take off his shirt. Somebody else told me he looked like he was “starving for a Nutriment or some type of supplement drink." Damn, homey, in '94 you was the man, homey – WTF happened to you!?

PRETTY UGLY RUMORS!

Also, I want to clear up a rumor about Pleasure (formerly of Pretty Ricky). A while back I got a rumor that he said something derogatory about T-Pain. In actuality, he didn't. I was off like a mug. I heard he has a thing with a certain female magazine publisher though. You know who did you know what with you know who…lets keep that between me and you, P.

SHOUT OUT TO CHERI DENNIS!

Hey, we're just happy that Cheri finally got a release date.

Musicians donate tunes to benefit bridge victims

In order to get the collection together quickly, artists were asked to donate a song already in the can. But one participant, Coon Rapids-based country singer Rockie Lynne, said he felt compelled to write an original song about the tragedy.

"Songwriting is like farming," Lynne said. "You can put in a lot of hard work, but you can't make it rain. With this song, it rained right away, probably because I was so saddened that a tragedy like that could take place right where I live."

The result, "The Chance to Say Goodbye," is the collection's lead-off track.

"Imagine going off to work and never coming home/ Kissing your family, then leaving them alone through no fault of your own," sings Lynne. He goes on to sing of specific victims, such as a delivery truck driver and a mother with her son.
