| Close call at Steamboat airport
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS Steamboat Springs airport officials say a United Express flight aborted a landing attempt on Saturday after the pilots spotted a small plane on their runway. Yampa Valley Regional Airport Manager Dave Ruppel says traffic controllers in Denver had cleared the small plane for takeoff after the United Express pilots apparently reported they were already on the ground before they had actually landed. No injuries were reported. United officials did not immediately return a call. It's not clear how many people were on the United Express CRJ-700, which can carry 66 passengers, or the smaller King Air, which can carry nine or 12. Federal officials said Monday they had no report of the incident. .

I'll calling for a public debate on illegal immigration, and want to invite Ed Sifuentes, Bill Flores from El Grupo, Ruben Navarrette Jr., Ed Morones, and leaders of the local chapters of MEChA and NCLR. My guess is that McCain's vanity will get the best of him, and he'll start listening more to Hollywood, the New Yorker, Europe elites, and the upper west side than he will his own party faithful.
From my sense of his ego, I don't think he has it in him to act and maintain in the face of the same kind of relentless criticism that Bush has basically ignored. Which means he'll be manipulatable by the raving "popularity" crowd. .
